This week, students from across our district came together at Carlin Park for our summer school program. Focused on strengthening reading skills and setting our elementary learners up for success, these sessions are an important part of our commitment to student growth.
A huge thank you to our dedicated and passionate teachers—this program wouldn’t be possible without your incredible efforts!

Our incredible MSDSC educators showcased their dedication to leading and learning yesterday at Trine University's "Storm Into Summer" Conference!
We're so proud that more than 10 of our teachers presented in breakout sessions, sharing their expertise and insights with colleagues. An amazing 25+ of our staff attended, soaking up new knowledge and strategies!
Check out these action shots of our teachers in full swing! While we couldn't capture everyone, it was truly an inspiring day of professional growth.
A huge thank you to Trine University for organizing such an incredibly organized and inspiring event!

Support is available all summer long!

We honor those today who sacrificed and served.

Happy Summer PLM! ☀️ The weather might have caused us to miss out on the fire trucks and water day, but we still had an amazing last day of school! Thank you PLM for an unforgettable year! 💕

PLM Field Day 2025 was a success!

Our students had a wonderful time on our All-School Field Trip to Camp Chief Little Turtle last week. Students participated in fishing, a pond study, teambuilding activities, archery, and tomahawk. We ended the day with some time on the beloved sand dune!

At the Cook Center for Human Connection, we recognize that summer brings both excitement and challenges for families. In June’s Mental Health Newsletter (English/Spanish), we’re focusing on how to create a summer that fosters connection, balance, and well-being for your child. In this newsletter, you’ll find strategies to help maintain healthy routines, encourage social interaction, and set boundaries for screen time. We’re also sharing simple ways parents can support a smooth transition into summer.
We’re excited to provide valuable resources, including ParentGuidance.org - a platform designed to help you navigate your child’s emotional well-being with expert insights and practical tools.

Our AMAZING PTO has spoiled our staff this week! Today, MSDSC organized a visit from Travelin' Toms Coffee Truck and each staff member received a custom tumbler from our PTO. Our team makes our school a great place to learn and grow! (:

Pleasant Lake Montessori and ACE Academy got a visit from the Travelin' Tom's Coffee truck this morning, and it was awesome! Teachers and staff were super excited to get their drinks. Dr. Widenhoefer even came by to say hello to the 'tiniest' members of our school family and thank our incredible teachers for everything they do. They really deserve it!"

It's just $10 for adults and $5 for kids, and the fun runs from 8 AM to 1 PM. You won't want to miss this!

Miss Elizabeth from Carnegie Public Library in Angola has been on a grand tour of our elementary schools this week to share read alouds and the summer offerings available at the library. By Monday afternoon, she will have visited every elementary student in the district! Check your child's backpack for summer reading program information over the next few days. There are many ways to keep students learning at the library this summer.
