Angola Middle School

The plaque has arrived, school is back in session, and we are thrilled to celebrate the record-breaking performance of Owen Fletcher!

On May 24, 2025, at the Indiana Middle School Track Meet hosted on the Indiana State University campus, Owen set a new Angola Middle School record in the 1600-meter run. Owen, the son of Josh and Ashley Fletcher, is now a proud member of the Angola High School Cross Country Team.

The previous record of 4:43 was set in 1981 by Kent Mahnesmith, a standout athlete who graduated with the Angola High School Class of 1985. Kent went on to run for the University of Indianapolis and earned his Law Degree from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1993. Sadly, Kent passed away on October 30, 2011, due to an ATV accident.

The Angola High School Band has been hard at work this summer, learning this year’s marching band show, Beyond the Horizon. This Friday, at 6 pm, they’ll reveal the music behind the show for the first time! They will also be selling pork burger meals for $10 starting at 5 pm! Come out and show your support for our incredible band students and dedicated staff.

Please join MSDSC staff at the Angola High School gymnasium between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM on July 30th. All students in grades K-12 will be able to receive their class schedules on this day. AMS Girls Soccer Open Field Starting on June 17th . Who: incoming 6-8th grade girls interested in playing soccer at AMS What: Open Field - fun time to learn skills with teammates before season starts When: Tues and Wed 5:30-7. Where: Drop off and pick up will be at the HS game field each day.

Our incredible MSDSC educators showcased their dedication to leading and learning yesterday at Trine University's "Storm Into Summer" Conference! We're so proud that more than 10 of our teachers presented in breakout sessions, sharing their expertise and insights with colleagues. An amazing 25+ of our staff attended, soaking up new knowledge and strategies! Check out these action shots of our teachers in full swing! While we couldn't capture everyone, it was truly an inspiring day of professional growth. A huge thank you to Trine University for organizing such an incredibly organized and inspiring event!

We have a few AMS Yearbooks still available and wanted to give everyone an opportunity. First come, first serve. They are $30 and may be purchased at the AMS office on June 3-4, or June 9-10 (or as long as supplies last).

AMS Boys Soccer Starting tomorrow, offseason open field practices will be at HS field on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:45-6:45. These are open to incoming 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Come join some friends for fun and soccer skills.

Support is available all summer long!

On Thursday, May 22nd, 38 Angola Middle School students were recognized for achieving a "Perfect Score" on ILEARN Checkpoints. Each student received a certificate, achievement award coupons, as well as a yard sign.
