The MSD of Steuben County is completing a comprehensive strategic planning process to help guide the district’s future direction and ensure our schools continue to serve students and the community effectively. This week, we celebrate Assistant Principal Appreciation Week. We thank them for their hard work, guidance, and the positive impact they have on our school communities every single day. Drop a comment or give a shout-out to your favorite assistant principal and let them know they are appreciated! 🙌
April 4th is National School Librarian Appreciation Day! Our librarians do so much more than manage our libraries; they’re the first contact with technical issues, assist in classrooms, and cover recess and pitch in whenever they are needed. Their dedication to our schools and students is appreciated every day. Be sure to thank them when we return from spring break!
Today is National School Instructional Assistant Day, and even though we are on spring break, we did not want the day to pass without saying thank you! Whether it is at the pick-up line, in the classroom, or out on the playground, our instructional assistants are always there for our students and teachers. Their dedication is a tremendous asset to our schools. We look forward to celebrating them in person when we return from break.

The week before spring break is always a busy one as everyone works to wrap things up before the break, and this thoughtful gesture was a wonderful pick-me-up. Angola Middle School is proud to announce that our Golden Apple Teacher of the Year is Brian Miller! This prestigious award is both nominated and voted on by the staff at AMS.

Angola Middle School celebrated its teachers yesterday in honor of Pi Day! Principal Chris Baut and the assistant principal, Kyle Booher, delivered a small pie to all staff and teachers as a fun way to show their appreciation. 🥧😊

The AMS Jazz Band competed Saturday at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Jazz Competition. After the performance, Band Director Shanna Lank summed it up best: “They crushed it!” The band brought home a Gold rating for their performance.
A special highlight of jazz music is the solos within each piece. This year’s soloists included Rodrigo Torres, Weston Miller, Ella Handley, Kayden Alford, Forest Parnell, and Draven Cole. Each student wrote their own solo, and they all did an amazing job—every solo earned an award!
We are very proud of this ensemble and their accomplishments. 🎷👏
